Ashton & Evans

This website seeks to document and commemorate the architectural work of Ashton & Evans (A&E) and Ashton, Evans & Brazier (AEB) from the beginning of the principals’ careers (1912) through Raymond Evans’ death in 1963.

The firm’s architectural catalog includes:

  • Many building types, from quickly-built war housing to some of the most revered, longstanding structures in the intermountain west;
  • Various architectural styles, from Moorish to California Modern and everything in between;
  • A wide geographical scope, not only the Salt Lake Valley, but Nevada, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, Colorado and beyond;
  • Awards and recognitions, including many listings on the National Register of Historic Places;
  • Partnerships with a wide range of well-known architects and firms.
